Storia

La città fu fondata nel mwga1903 dal re (mwgqksogi) Khama III, nonno del primo presidente del Botswana mwggSeretse Khama. Essa nella prima parte del mwgwXX secolo fu la capitale dei mwhaBamangwato (o mwhqBaNgwato o mwhgNgwato), uno degli otto principali clan nei quali si divideva l'etnia mwhwTswana.

Serowe nella letteratura

Serowe fu scelta come residenza dalla scrittrice mwigBessie Head dopo il proprio forzato trasferimento dal mwiwSudafrica ed ispirò il suo libro del mwja1974 mwjqSerowe: village of the rain wind.
